The essence of Fernando Cerda, the not so Californian California Native.

Californian: one who enjoys basking in the sun repeatedly uses the word dude, and generally is a surfer or enjoys the ocean. While searching for the elements that makes me who I am, I encountered the idea that the person you are is molded by your surroundings. As much as I want to hold this theory true it is incorrect in my case, I am a California native and although I enjoy the sun and unexpected beach trips the whole “surfer dude” laid back mentality is just not for me. I like to think that I am one of a kind, but the people you surround yourself with, almost always have the same ideals and goals as you. I consider myself a sort of hippie just because helping the environment has become my hobby, and recycling has become second nature. Another characteristic that makes me, me is the fact that I am almost always in vogue, and enjoy fashion as a whole(not a typical male interest), but I believe that this interest has allowed me to expand my abilities in the art world. Finally I am very artistic everything I lay my hands on will either become my next project or the next prop for a photograph. Chiefly I am a very eclectic person whose interest range from helping the world, to creating the next look.

Grace in Human Form

Mother of five member of the society of St. Vincent de Paul , and party planner guru Grace medina had and did everything until the devastating day she was diagnosed with brain cancer. The news struck hard, the lives of many suddenly changed falling into an abysmal cell that had no intention of releasing them. The diagnosis read Metastatic Brain cancer the deadliest cancer of its kind. Chemotherapy was a necessity and changes began to be apparent Grace the once active mother of five could not fend for herself, from having to be assisted to use the restroom to being fed, the fight to stay alive seemed hopeless. Many believe that this woman (a superhuman for some) is the quintessential personality to withstand such a devastating disease, her humor prevailed over the pain from chemo, and her spirit arose higher than ever before. In all, she gives everyone around her the support they need to succeed, her illness has not crippled her it has given her the strength to live. If there is a lesson to be learned it is that life is to precious to be taken for granted you like Gracie can fall victim to a disease that slowly kills, taking everything from you, just because it wants to. She has become my number one hero I love you Gracie.

108_49888Through my exploration of a variety of photo-taking techniques, I realized that most photographers focus on the macro technique, simply put they value focused pieces rather than abstract work. I recently took an abundance of photos that were all centered around blurriness, these were all very different. I, like many other photographers have focused on perfection, yet a much more beautiful form of photography is lurking right below our noses. Were are my manners? I have ranted on about photo techniques and didn’t properly introduced myself. I am Fernando Cerda also known as Fern, this is my first blog and well I hope it has been somewhat interesting.108_50183
